#4 Champs-Élysées

“Il y a tous que vous voulez aux Champs-Élysées… (There’s anything you could want at the Champs-Élysées…)” Joe Dassin famously used to sing, with everybody else singing along. The Champs-Élysées is the most famous, magnificent and elegant avenue of Paris.

It starts with Napoleon’s Arch of Triumph and ends at the Concord Square where a huge Egyptian obelisk now proudly stands close to the spot where poor Louis XIV lost his head (literally! he was guillotined there). A lot of water has passed under the bridge since the French Revolution though, so now you can peaceful enjoy the majestic scenery!
